Kozjak – a medium-high mountain located in the area of Mariovo in the southern part of Macedonia. It is located between the Nidze and Kozhuf mountains, rising from the left side of Rozhdenska Reka and Blashtica, and it stretches from Crna Reka in the north in the meridian direction all the way to the Macedonian-Greek border in the south.
More specifically, it appears as a northern deviation and branch of the entire mountain massif of Nidze and Kozhuv, and with its extension it also divides the Prilep and Tikvesh (Kavadarci) parts of Mariovo. The ridge, which is bare and quite rounded, has a meridian direction stretching from north to south, with the highest peak Baltova Chuka (1,823 m). To the north, right next to it, is the somewhat lower peak Perum (1,807 m), while to the north is the more prominent peak Perun (1,703 m), and in the northern part are also the peaks Durov Kamen (1,569 m), Meshnik (1,470 m) and Zelka (1,426 m), while on the very border with Greece is the peak of Golem Kozjak (1,814 m).
The mountain itself has a larger branch to the west where the Skrka ridge is located with the 1,344 meter high Pandele peak. Among the passes, the most significant is Tribor (1,406 m), through which the Prilep and Kavadarci parts of Mariovo communicate. From a tectonic-geological point of view, it represents a syncline composed of gneisses with granitoid bodies and marbles. The mountain abounds with a lot of forest where the black pine is especially abundant.
