Sence – a village in the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuše, in the Gorna Reka area, located on the road between the cities of Gostivar-Debar. Sence is located in the Gorna Reka area, in the central part of the territory of the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuše, on the northwestern slope of the Bistra mountain. The village is mountainous, located at an altitude of 1,100 meters.

The village is located on Bistra, towards Barička Gourge, a little lower than Belichica. However, it is located quite high in the mountain. A narrow asphalt road leads to it, which disconnects from the Mavrovo-Debar regional road. In 1852, the inhabitants of Sence helped publish the book “Consolation of Sinners” by Kiril Pejčinović. In the 19th century, Sence was a village in the Rekanska kaza of the Ottoman Empire.

Sence Lake – an occasional natural glacial lake located on Mount Bistra in Macedonia.

It is located in a hollow – cirque, at an altitude of 1,762 m. in the northwestern part of the mountain Bistra on the branch called Chaušica below the peak Golem (or Ezerski) Rid (2015 m.a.s.l.) near the lake marshy plateau Ezerishte, in the vicinity of the village Sence, which is why it is also called Senechko Lake, where it belongs within the Mavrovo National Park. The lake can be reached by several paths, from the villages of Belichica, where there is a marked hiking trail, as well as from Sence and Volkovija.
