Plakenska Mountain (Prostranska Mountain) – a medium-high mountain in Southwestern Macedonia with a Dinaric direction stretching NW-SE. The highest peak is Stalev Kamen (1,999 m), after which some call it “Plakenska Mountain”, and Konjarnik peak (1,919 m) is also high. Other higher peaks are: Dupen Kamen, Damov Grob, Gramada and Crni Vrv.
At the eastern foot of the mountain is the village of Prostranje, which is why it is also called “Prostranska Mountain”. The mountain stretches between the Boishka Reka valley and Demir Hisar in the east and the Debrca valley in the west. To the south, the ridge of Plakenska Mountain continues in Bigla. The geological composition is represented by crystalline shales overlain by Triassic limestones. Golema and Koselska Reka flow to the west, and Prostranska, Virovska River and Golemacha, a tributary of the Boishka River, to the east. The mountain sides are under forest, and the high parts are under mountain pastures.
