Turtel – the peak of Mount Plackovica with a height of 1,603 m. The peak rises in the western part of the mountain.

The peak is located on the western part of Plachkovica mountain, i.e. on the left side of the Zrnovska Reka valley. From the Turtel hill to the west, a panoramic view stretches for a long distance, while the eastern side towards the Zrnovska Reka valley is densely wooded.

In the vicinity of the top, there are marbles in the geological structure, which contributed to the creation of more caves. Due to the presence of marbles in the geological construction of this part, several caves have been created around Turtel. The longest of them is Golema Peshtera, with a length of about 600 meters, and the other known caves are Kjup, Ajduchka, Turtel and Ponor. The caves are mostly easily accessible and marked trails lead to them.

The best access to Turtel peak is from the east side. The ascent starts on an asphalt road from the village of Karbintsi, which first leads to the mountain lodge “Vrteshka” at an altitude of 1,107 m, and then to the resort “Plackovica” at an altitude of about 1,350 m, from where it continues to the very top.
