Leshok Monastery – Orthodox monastery complex, which is the largest spiritual center in Tetovo Region. The monastery is located in a natural setting near the village of Leshok, at an altitude of 610 meters. In the complex are the churches “St. Athanasius” and “St. The Virgin”, as well as the grave and memorial room of Kiril Pejcinović, who is one of the most famous Macedonian revivalists of the 19th century.

In the monastery quarters there is a chapel dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius, while outside the monastery complex there is an old church dedicated to the so-called Athanasius of Alexandria. Old monastery. The monastery was founded for the first time in 1321 by Bishop Anthony of Pologsk. The complete revival that is still visible today is due to the arrival of Pejčinović from Sveta Gora in 1818, when the monastery lodgings were restored and the monastery library was founded. At that time, Leshok grew into a literary and educational center. Today, the monastery lodgings are renovated, have accommodation facilities and are especially suitable for summer monastery tourism.

The monastery has been demolished twice so far. For the first time in 1690, the Turks destroyed the entire complex with the churches. The second time the monastery was blown up by Albanian terrorists during the conflict in 2001.
