Kozhuf Mountain covers an area of 893 km2. It extends over the territory of two countries: (the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Greece), where within the borders of the Republic of Macedonia, Kozhuf covers a territory of 80 percent and the remaining 20 percent is in the territory of the Republic of Greece. The circle of the territory of the Kozhuf mountain starts from the northernmost point – the confluence of the Bosavica river in the Vardar river near Demir Kapija. The border runs along the course of the Vardar River, and on the right side is the most impressive part-the canyon of the Demirkapi Gorge. It crosses the state border of the Republic of Macedonia and near the village of Ljumnica (850 m.a.s.l.) on the territory of the Republic of Greece, it continues to the west, separating Mount Pajak, the northern sides of the Meglen Valley and reaches the Puljevec saddle (1165 m.a.s.l. c) continues towards Mrežichko. Here is the border with Kozjak mountain. From Mrežichko through Mushov Grob (1019 m.a.s.l.) it covers the northern side of the Vitachevo plateau, reaching the river Bošavica.

Kozhuf stretches in a southwest-northeast direction and has a rounded and unbroken mountain ridge. More precisely, Kozhuf Mountain has two main ridges as extensions of Nidze through Kozjak in two directions, southwest and northeast. From Puljevec (1165 m.a.s.l.) you reach the saddle Orlov vis (1627 m.a.s.l.) via the Konjska glava peak (1836 m.a.s.l.) you reach the third highest peak Dudica (2132 m.a.s.l.) . From here, the main ridge continues to the Porta saddle (1845 m.a.s.l.), reaching the highest peak of Kozhuf – Zelen Breg (2171 m.a.s.l.), then descends to the Markovo Lake saddle (2035 m.a.s.l.) to climb to the Sea or K-92 (2102 m.a.s.l.), then through Mala Rupa (2004 m.a.s.l.) and through Suva Rupa (1960 m.a.s.l.) to reach the village of Ljumnica.

Kozhuf abounds with a huge water potential from which numerous rivers spring. For mountaineers and lovers of the mountain, the river Doshnica is one of the most beautiful and cleanest rivers in Macedonia. The lynx still exists on Kozhuf as a rare and protected species. Unfortunately, on the part of the poachers, the deer has been gone for 2-3 decades, and from time to time the bear appears, which migrates from the mountains in Greece and Macedonia to Kozhuf in search of calmer places. The plant world is rich in the most diverse species, but the most attractive are medicinal herbs and the tree (Arbutus andrachne) or popularly known as “naked man”, which is protected by law. “Bad man” is an endemic species of evergreen tree whose bark is red and scaly, and which changes twice a year.
