Elshani – a village in the Municipality of Ohrid, in the vicinity of the city of Ohrid.

This village is located in Ohrid, in the central part of the territory of the Municipality of Ohrid, on the western slope of the mountain Galichica, whose atar rises to the crest of the mountain where it touches the area of the Municipality of Resen, and on the other side the atar reaches the coast of Lake Ohrid. The village is mountainous, at an altitude of 878 meters. From the city of Ohrid, the village is 14.4 kilometers away.

The village is spread out on the slopes of Galichica, at an altitude of about 900 meters. Surrounding villages are Peshtani in the south and Konjsko in the north. The locals were supplied with drinking water from village taps, and today there is a water pipe, which was built in 1974. The water comes from the spring Vrsek, which springs near the village. The village has a compact character and is divided into three neighborhoods: Gorno, Sredno and Dolno Maalo. In those neighborhoods, houses of the same gender are grouped together. The new neighboring settlement of Eleshec, which is located right next to the shore of Lake Ohrid, has been functioning as a separate part of the village in recent years.

Elshani is an excellent starting point for mountain walks or rock climbing in Galicica National Park. On the other hand, the branching network of paths, narrow country streets and local uncongested roads are ideal for walking, running or cycling, for people of all ages and levels of fitness.
