Perchulica or Belicka Mountain – a mountain in the central part of Macedonia and is part of the Mokra (Jakupica) mountain massif. Perchulica mountain belongs to the central and western parts of this widespread massif. Perchulica is located between three large mountain branches (Karadzica, Jakupica and Dautica), which, unlike Perchulica, are much more famous and penetrated into the literature. To the north of the mountain branch of Karadzica, Perchulica is separated by the Porta pass (2037 m) and Solunsko Pole, to the northeast and east of Jakupica (Solunska Glava 2540 m), it is also separated by Solunsko Pole, and while in the south it gradually descends towards Dautica. Often, Perchulica is connected and marked as part of the Dautica branch, but this is debatable, because the ridge of Perchulica has a demarcation with Dautica, they are separated by the Plavnik pass (2065 m), the mountain plateau called “Gorno Bachilo” and Kriv Dol. Also, the mountain Perchulica is significantly higher than the mountain Dautica and dominates in relation to the lower Dautica, and at the same time the ridge of Perchulica in the Babina Dupka area gradually merges with the ridges of Dautica and Jakupica.

Perchulica has one main ridge with a length of 5 km, which stretches in a northwest-southeast direction. The ridge is composed of four peaks, which are higher than 2300 meters, and the highest among them is Perchulica peak (2423 m), which is the third highest peak of the Mokra Planina massif (Jakupica). The same peak rises above the surrounding terrain in the form of a “volcanic cup”, but in no case is it a volcano because the peak itself was created under the influence of karst and glacial erosion processes. At the very top there is a large depression in the form of a circular carousel, and after it the peak is also known as Marina Dupka. In addition to this peak, Babina Dupka or Gorna Babina Dupka (2326 m) is also known, near which the hiking trail from Cheples to Solunska Glava passes.

The deepest abyss of Perchulica mountain is the abyss Dlaboka Yama (Abyss) or also known as Thessaloniki Abyss. This abyss has a depth of 370 meters. At the foot of Mount Perchulica, in the area called “Duff Pat”, right next to the village of Belica, there are two caves (Laparnica and Golubarnica), which are quite well studied. In addition to the karst relief, remnants of glacial erosion can be found on the mountain. It is represented by the appearance of several cirques (amphitheatrical depressions created by the movement of glaciers under the influence of gravity), which, under the influence of karst erosion, have changed and are presented in the form of a cirque-carousel. Perchulica as a karst mountain (water permeable mountain) is dry, without the appearance of water and surface flows. There are almost no springs, and the real wealth is represented by two springs, the first is located in the area of Čavkarnik (1890 m), and the second is located at the bottom of the Solunsko Pole (1978 m). In addition to these, there are also springs on the neighboring ridge of Dautica mountain, above Gorno Bacilo.

The mountain and Perchulica peak can be reached from two directions, the first route leads from the mountain lodges Papradishte (990 m) and Cheples (1410 m) to Gorna Babina Dupka, from where you do not continue to Solunska Glava, but climb the western peak of Gorna Babina Dupka (2326 m), and from there continue northwest along the ridge all the way to Perchulica peak (2423 m). The second path leads from the village of Belica (550 m), where you first climb the wooded ridge of Jachmishte, and then continue along the high mountain pastures all the way to the top of Perchulica. The same path is visible all the way to Jachmishte, and from the walls of the former hut in Jachmishte, the path gets lost and requires careful movement along the high mountain grass all the way to Perchulica peak. The path is very steep and climbs a relative height of 1860 meters.
