Village Patishka Reka – Mirska Voda peak is perhaps one of the easiest and most accessible trails on Karadzica – a mountain that occupies the western part of the Jakupica massif (Mokra Mountain). But considering the height difference of 1,170 m, it is not to be underestimated.

The trail starts in the village of Patishka Reka, which is exactly 37.5 km away from the center of Skopje. From Skopje you head towards Drachevo, Batinci, Markova Sushica, and here the road forks to the left for the village of Patishka Reka. The road is in good condition and asphalted, except for a few kilometers before Patishka Reka, where you should be careful of smaller damages and ruts. You can park the vehicle in the middle of the village in front of the mosque where there are enough parking opportunities.

The Patishka River of the same name flows through the village – a sinkhole river in Macedonia. According to the writings of the Macedonian revolutionary Gjorce Petrov in the book Materials after the study of Macedonia, the Patishka River begins to flow at Crn Vrv not far from the Salakov Lakes and descends down the deep valley between Karadzica and Ibrahimica. It flows through the village of the same name, Patishka Reka, from where, flowing in a north and northeast direction, it plunges into the village of Prisoj near the turning off of the road to Drzhilovo, whereupon it appears in the continuation as Suva Reka, flowing into Markova Reka.

Patishka River is reminiscent of the legendary Vevcani, where the river of the same name literally bypasses the houses and village alleys, turning the village into a wonderful place to visit.

The path starts somewhere before the end of the village, where it immediately forks: left to the top of Milenkov Kamen (9 km), right to the top of Mirska Voda (6 km), or a circular option (17 km): the choice is yours. This time, since we arrived late, we decided to go to the top of Mirska Voda. The path is clearly marked with hiking markings and immediately after doubling you enter a beautiful evergreen forest where before the end of the forest (3 km from the start) the path offers magical views towards the top of Milenkov Kamen. At the end of the forest, a wide meadow opens where we take the first break and gather strength for the last climb to the top – the climb begins 3.5 km from the start where we climb a 530 m height difference to the top and use up our last strength. We arrive at the top and the reward is more than enough: magical views of the entire Jakupica – Mokra Mountain Massif.

If you visit this trail in winter conditions, be careful: most of the village of Patishka Reka is in the snow and the road can be frozen. Our final suggestion: visit the new REKA complex a few kilometers from the village – for a coffee or tea :)
