Jakupica or Mokra Mountain – mountain massif in Central Macedonia. It is composed of several mountainous parts: Karadzica, Dautica, Goleshnica, Kitka, Mumdzica, Salakova Planina and Osoj. On the mountain, there are traces of the ice age, represented by circuses (two lakes), waves and moraines. Jakupica is rich in diverse flora and fauna, pastures, hot springs, etc. The highest and most noticeable peak is Solunska Glava, 2,540 meters high. Other important peaks are: Karadzica (2,473 m), Popovo Brdo (2,380 m), Ostar Breg (2,365 m), Ubava (2,353 m), Ostar Vrv (2,275 m) and Dautica (2,178 m).
The relief is intersected by numerous clean and fast mountain rivers. Large areas are covered with beech, oak and coniferous forests. There are also obvious traces of primordial glaciation from the active period. Recently, a number of institutions have proposed Jakupica, as well as the entire Mokra Mountain massif to become a national park.
This mountain massif is easily accessible from the capital Skopje or from the city of Veles and the many villages in this area.
On clear and clear days, from the top Solunska Glava it is believed that you can see the city of Thessaloniki in Greece, hence the name of the highest peak. But if there is truth in that, you will have to check for yourself.
